A few weeks ago we watched a wobbly baby Cowbird land on the suet feeder. It squawked and cried. Then a male Cardinal arrived. Cardinals have not frequented the feeders – except in snowstorms – because they don’t like narrow perching. Nonetheless, throughout the day we watched the drama unfold. Parent Cardinal feeding Child Cowbird and teaching it to get food on its own. Bless you both! More photos of nature in the city at Our Urban Nature.
